The short version: you send us a photo so we can draw your kid. We use it only for that, keep it private, and delete it after your book is made. We never use your child's photo or book in our marketing, and we never use it to train AI.
Who we are
Next Big Moment ("we", "us") makes personalized picture books. You can reach us any time at nextbigmoment@mail.tab.bot.
What we collect
- Your contact details: your name, email address and, for printed books, the shipping address.
- Book details you give us: your child's first name, age, the pronoun you choose, favorite things, a sibling's name, story notes, a dedication, and the story and style you pick.
- Photos you upload: 1 to 3 photos of your child, plus family members for some books (like the Halloween Costume Book).
- Payment: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Basic site data: standard technical data such as your browser type, kept only as long as needed to run the site safely.
Kids' photos and information
Our books are about children, but they are ordered by parents, guardians and grandparents. Our site is meant for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. When a parent or guardian gives us a child's photo and details, they are giving us permission to use them for one purpose: making that child's book.
- We use the photos only to make your child's book.
- We store photos privately, with access limited to the people and services that make your book.
- We delete the photos after your book is made, and always within 30 days of delivery. If you get a free preview and do not order, we delete them within 30 days of the preview.
- We never use your child's photo, name or book in our marketing, ads or social media. The kids you see on our site are fictional.
- We never use your photos to train AI models, and we do not let our providers do so.
- We never sell or rent your information or your child's information.
We follow the spirit of the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are a parent and believe we have information about your child that you did not give us permission to have, email us and we will delete it.
How we use your information
- To make, preview, print and ship your book.
- To email you about your order (your preview link, shipping updates).
- To send launch news and offers, only if you joined our email list. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To answer your questions and keep our site safe.
Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted services to run the shop: a payment processor (Stripe), a print and shipping partner, website hosting, email, and the AI illustration tools that draw your book. They get only what they need to do their part and may not use it for anything else.
How long we keep things
- Photos: deleted after your book is made, always within 30 days of delivery.
- Your finished book file: kept so you can re-download or reorder it, unless you ask us to delete it.
- Order records: kept as long as the law requires for taxes and accounting.
- Email list: until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information or your child's information at any time. Email nextbigmoment@mail.tab.bot and we will take care of it within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have extra rights, and we will honor them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is big, we will email customers before it takes effect.
